BEACH TAG by Tanja

Hi, there! Today, I would like to show you the creation of this Beach Tag step by step:

Cover a Manila Tag #8 with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint (Chalk) and add texture with a craft scratcher.

Apply Distress Stains (Broken China, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, Tarnished Brass) and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers).

Apply Distress Ink (Broken China) through the ARTplorations Bubbles stencil.

Cut out a pattern using one of the Sizzix Mixed Media dies and cover the openings with vellum from the backside.

Add more interest to the background by stamping "Aloha", "Summer", and "Beach" from the Aloha Summer and Beach Therapy sets with Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink (Watering Can) -- the first impression was too dark and the second impression too light. In order to create a medium shade of the ink, I applied it to the stamp with a swiping rather than a tapping motion.

Color the seashell from the Love Letter in the Sand set with Distress Re-Inkers (Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo, Iced Spruce, Spun Sugar).

Cut out the title from Lori Whitlock Beach Script Words twice, glue one on top of the other, and color it with Distress Paint (Gathered Twigs); dab some Distress Paint (Antique Linen) on top for more texture.

Dye a piece of seam binding with the same Distress Stains used to color the tag and tie it into a bow.

Here are close-ups of the seashell and the title:
