ART JOURNAL PAGES tutorial by Asmah

Hello from Asmah! I'm back again to share with you my tutorial today. It's pretty simple using waste not want not. I always use scraps of papers and left over material to do art journal pages. Come join my little journey and hopefully you will be inspired.

I was so enthused using my die machine to cut some flowers earlier this year once I received my dies in the post. I constantly make flowers because mojo refused to quit. As a result I have plenty of left over petals and keep them for later use till today.
Notice the strips of papers? It was in one small piece and remainder from manila size cattails handmade paper I bought some thirteen years ago...seriously!

I glued down everything and added drywall tapes for extra texture and additional interest. Next I gesso-ed the entire pages and left dry for a while.

I played with watercolors next and used three main colors to create the background until I feel satisfied. When dry, I used black watercolor pencil to highlight the flowers, stamp the edges and stem with artsy border maker stamp set and nestled circles ARTplorations stencil.

 Here are some up-close pictures:

I love words of wisdom hence the quote by Picasso ~ Action is the foundational key to all success.

I hope you have enjoyed my very simple tutorial this time. I shall be back next month. See you soon.

Hugs and smiles,
