Irit here! Hello, my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Faux Wood tutorial made with one single, must have, ARTplorations Weathered Wood stencil.
This is not a wood texture over wood. This is a wood over paper. Let's do it! It's fun and easy and gives you a gorgeous old wood result.
Step by step instructions:
1.First, find an old toothbrush. Then cut each second row inside it with fine scissors and make your own home made tool. Take a piece of Kraft cardstock and add a thick layer of gesso with your new crafty tool. Let it dry!
2.Take your ARTplorations Weathered Wood stencil and add a thick layer of white texture paste over the first gesso layer. Let it dry again.
3. Use brown Gelatos water color and make random lines over the dry texture. Then wipe it with a couple of wet baby wipes all over.
4. Add a layer of Tsukineko Terra Cotta mist over the first brown layer and you got this lovely wood color.
5. Now let's make the wood panel with markers and a ruler. You can use Copic or Faber Castell Artist Big brush and to make a faux separations over the whole cardstock as shown.
6. And as your " wood" is done, let's make the final project. Cut the piece into two long strips and 3 horizontal smaller ones. Arrange the wood piece as shown and glue with a good permanent glue on the back. Add a few stickers over the pallet and enjoy your " wooden" project!
