COFFEE OR TEA tutorial by Tanja

Hi there,

it's Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this art journal page step by step. I called it "Coffee or Tea" but I could have also called it "nothing worked out as it should have":

• cut a panel from very sturdy watercolor paper (425 g/qm), cover it with gesso and punch two holes at the left side

• create a background using gelatos (Earl Grey, Elderberry, Boysenberry) and a baby wipe

• spritz the background with Prima Marketing Color Bloom (Soft Teal, Summer Sky, Cobalt)
• cover the background with Dorlands's Wax Medium to avoid smudging of the water-based colors

• mix Gelatos (Boysenberry) with transparent crackle paste, apply it through the ARTplorations Bubbles stencil and let dry
• and now we come to the part where nothing worked out as planned

• the crackle paste was not able to adhere to the wax medium and simply fell of ...

•  ... but I ended up with a distressed circle background and decided to go from here

• stamp the STAMPlorations Coffee Cup Large with VersaMagic (Night Sky)

• stamp some Zig Zag Borders from the STAMPlorations Artsy Border Maker with VersaMagic (Purple Hydrangea, Night Sky)

• color the coffee cup with Alcohol Inks (Mushroom, Hazelnut, Silver) and watered-down VersaMagic (Purple Hydrangea, Cloud White)
• ink up the edges with VersaMagic (Night Sky)

• cut out "COFFEE" and "TEA" from double-sided foam adhesive and foil them with purple and blue foil
• cut out the "or" and a tiny star from balsa wood and color the pieces with Memento Luxe (Rich Cocoa)
• add some paint splatters with the same watered-down brown ink
