Hi everyone, Carol here today to share a tutorial with you all.
I started with a 5 x 7 canvas and coated it with gesso.
Using stamps from the Mixed Media Elements stamp set I added some background detail with Archival ink.
Using gilding wax and I stencilled the Confetti Circles stencil....this was an experiment to see if it would work as a resist.
It was looking good until I buffed it up...and this happened:
I was obviously a bit heavy handed with the wax...undaunted I kept going...well in for a penny in for a pound!! (It wouldn't be a tutorial if I didn't learn something!). Using Distress inks I sponged various colours to the background...this worked well and the wax did act as a resist but I still got good coverage.
I added the finishing touches with the Happy Flowers stencil, using sparkle medium and a sentiment using the Bold Sentiments: Create stamp set, stamped onto tissue paper.
I was quite pleased with how this eventually turned out and I hope I've inspired you to get your stencils out to play. See you again next month.
